Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups

I've reinstalled the drivers. When printing, the computer says the data is sent successfully and the screen on the printer (Brother MFC7820N) says "receiving", but when the data transfer is complete, the printer just goes back to sleep instead of printing.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. Ubuntu 9.10 is no longer supported and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

I solved the issue originally by downloading the Linux driver directly from the manufacturer's website and installing it. I have not done a new install since, but have simply kept that driver through the last two years of dist-upgrades. So, testing it locally won't be of much help. Feel free to close this one.
