Bug Description
Binary package hint: cups
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1280, and none of the maintenance functions are available in the Properties for that printer:
- Print Self-Test Page button is greyed out
- Clean Print Heads button is greyed out
- Ink Levels are not reported
I am running Ubuntu Jaunty with all of the updates applied. The device URI is
usb://EPSON/
The Make and Model is Epson Stylus Photo 1280 Foomatic/
Note that mtink will perform all of these operations, without sudo

Is the situation any different if you try the cups web interface? Try to access http:// localhost: 631/ on the computer where the printer is connected.
