Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups

After upgrading to 9.04 the local printer quit working. Remote users are not able to print to the printer either. I removed the printer and attempted to reinstall the printer. Starting printer configuration and selecting new, no LPT port was available under devices. The printer is HP LaserJet 6P. I tried everything in this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1135964&highlight=module+paraport . I have reset the BIOS to default and rebooted with same result, no printer found.
 Following debugging printing problems:
$ lsmod | grep lp

$ lsmod | grep ppdev
ppdev 15620 0
