Bug Description
Binary package hint: system-
The printer configuration option "pages per page" is completely ignored in Ubuntu 8.04.
To avoid any printer driver dependence (I have an HL-1030_series), I tried even with "PDF" printer.
The PDF-result is exactly what I see also on a printout:
In any case, I get the same printing result with "pages per page = 1" and "pages per page = 2".
With "pages per page = 2", I would expect both input pages (turned by 90°, scaled by 50%) on one output page.
I would even permit, that I have to set the orientation manually, so I tried to change the orientation to landscape ("Ausrichtung = Querformat 90°"), but this does not solve the problem, only the orientation is changed (in my case it is cutted then), but the input-page contents are never scaled.
I guess that the option may only work for postscript printers?

Meanwhile I found a workaround:
Evince has its own printer dialog, and there the option "pages per sheet" works fine.
So I can just print to PDF first, then open the PDF file and print it again with Evince, where I set the option "2 pages per sheet".
So the bug remains but is of minor importance for me.
