System unable to process print request. It shows either 'Processing' or 'Pending' and no paper is printed.

I am trying to print a file from Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit) using printer Canon LBP2900 with its official driver named 'Canon LBP2900 CAPT ver.1.5'. When a printing job is assigned to it, it keeps on showing either 'Processing' or 'Pending' and does not print anything.
