Brother HL-L3270CDW msg 'Waiting for job to complete' even though it has ended

Things may be related. I can initiate any print job, it completes but the above message persists. If I try to print more than ONE copy of a document or image only one is printed. This is not only disappointing and frustrating but time-wasting and frustrating. And it seems I'm not the only one to have this experience.
