Stuck at "Add Printer" (in CUPS web interface) on Ubuntu 20.04

Bug Description

I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 20.04.1 on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (8th gen). Whenever I go to http://localhost:631. I click on "Add Printer" and the status bar indicates that the page is loading. Nothing else happens. I'm stuck.

Not a solution, but at least a short-term solution.

I edited /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and commented out the following lines:
    AuthType Default
    Require user @SYSTEM

And it worked!
