Trying to install Alps MD1000 printer on my Ubuntu 16.04 desktop with pci express parallel card istalled.

Bug Description
Was able to get printer to work on a computer with Ubuntu and a parallel port on motherboard.
Thanks for any ideas on the problem.I am not very versed in command line.
