Samsung CLP-315 Foomatic/foo2qpdl driver gives odd colors and poor photo printing quality

Foomatic/foo2qpdl driver gives too dark colors, and disruptive texture in photo prints. It also gives odd hues on Ubuntu test page.

I printed using Gimp. I used "CLP-310/315" ICM color profile for Foomatic printing.

http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-CLP-315 recommends SpliX driver (2.0.0) for the printer. I tested 2.0.0 driver and got similar results than by foo2qpdl in both ubuntu test page and the test photo used here. Thus I am using Samsung's proprietary driver. I actually had to install the driver Samsung's way, since the "Samsung Unified Linux Driver Repository" (http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/) way did not work for this printer in ubuntu 12.04.
