In particular see Till Kamppeter's proposal for
an "universal cups-browsed" in this thread.

Initially Till had implemented some of the "universal cups-browsed"
functionality in the cups-filters software.

Tim Waugh recently added support for BrowsePoll, and CUPS Browsing
for sharing and discovery to the cups-browsed program in cups-filters.
