Bug Description

DIST-UPGRADED to trusty tahr, what a mess. Previously fine-working auto-loaded canon printer, now toast. Annoying sys error, like others complain but diff. details as follow, hand typed best I can.
Is it possible, linux is having viruses now? Keep asking me to sign into keyring; fix online did not solve.
Afraid to sign in, as its similar to a windows virus popup, etc. Signs of browser virus, transposer of type, only in browser window typing/addy bar, all spelling jumbled in pairs. Even after purging/reinstalling chrome.
Notice the below, says no log of upgrade, i did dist-upgrade, so should be there. 13.04 worked fine with printer. ....

thinking apps, as keep failing weird errors, purged openshot, gimp, chromium-browser; reinstalled, all 3 bizarre problems. No effect.
still have the typo backwards spelling-affecting thing similar to virus, tho browser now fully replaced.
sys: dell latitude d620 amd64, running upgraded to trusty tahr;

no google info, others similar, but not identical cups origin:

Sorry, Ubuntu 14.04 has experienced an error:

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1368489/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

your bug bot SUX.
went to update bug, PACKAGE TRUSTY, or TRUSTY TAHR, or 14.04.1 --
your sys retardedly says, no such ubuntu package exists?

Improve your sys. A newbie cannot fathom all this crud.
Nobody on windows, is going to go for ubuntu, when each upgrade screws up
all the work youve done or working out of box prior.
