Comment 29 for bug 295536

I have the same problem: trying to print a pdf in Ubuntu 8.10 gives the error message "usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf failed".

Changing the permission to o+x of my home directory solves this problem. But after changing it back to o-x the problem comes back.

Under Ubuntu 8.04 everything worked well.

I don't want to permanently give execute access to my home directory... Isn't there any solution in the meantime?
