Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups-pdf

there was no pdf printer installed by default on a fresh install of intrepid. after i installed cups-pdf package i was still not able to print to pdf.

I am having the same problem. I had to manually install cups-pdf. Even after doing that and printing to my new PDF printer, the file does not appear to be anywhere. There is no ~/PDF directory, and the following search does not find my printer document:
find ~/ -name *pdf

It appears that if one manually installs cups-pdf and then adds ~/PDF then pdf printing will work again.

Even updating from Hardy with PDF printer cups-pdf is not installed. Installing cups-pdf manually works perfectly.
