I believe this is a duplicate of #1034928 (culmus is reported there too for the same issue)

Apparently the patches for #1034928 didn't make it upstream for the release of 12.10 as I'm experiencing this very same issue after upgrading to 12.10.

Could somebody upstream please make this a priority and include it in the next upgrade cycle ? Thanks!
