The error occurred because you had the 2.6.35 kernel (from Ubuntu Maverick/10.10) installed. If you remove that old kernel, does the error still occur?

Hi, Dave,

The error occurs each time the kernel package updates and driver tries
to rebuild itself. 2.6.35 was ages ago, last time the bug was detected with:
$ uname -a
Linux phil 3.5.0-26-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 8 23:18:20 UTC 2013
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

how can I help more?

Phil

If you're using 3.5.x kernel, then this is a duplicate of bug 1016976
