Bug Description
Looks like it's when it's trying to read from a socket, from what I can tell?
From GDB at the point that it freezes:

If it's ptrace'd (IE, ltrace -p $PID or strace -p $PID) then it will resume.
However, please note that I am using an Intel chip that has builtin AES instructions, this may be related to a firmware/hardware issue rather than a specific problem with the software package.

Socket is interface to kernel crypto API so it is just waiting for output.
Anyway, we had few problems with benchmark code on fast machines but it should be fixed in 1.6.4.
Not sure if Ubuntu have cryptsetup 1.6.4 somewhere but it is in Debian testing already.
