Yes, I made a stupid mistake. The fixed packages
were uploaded yesterday, and should be available at
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/c/cron/ soon. (They been
moved from incoming.debian.org in the last hour or so....)

Package: cron
Version: 3.0pl1-84

Hi,

same problem over here, seems like the package is missing the /usr/bin
and /usr/sbin contents, as there is only /usr/share/doc and
/usr/share/man in that package.

While configuring the package the following error occurs:

zebra:~# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up cron (3.0pl1-84) ...
chgrp: cannot access `/usr/bin/crontab': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing cron (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
  cron

I am running unstable

Gunnar Hofmann

This bug has already been reported seven times (see the "Grave
functionality bugs - resolved" section of
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=cron), and has been
fixed in -86, which should propagate to mirrors in tonight's update.

Well, This is a nice one !

Huh ? the *cron* package, unconfigurable ?

Ayayayyyyy ! No cron in view.

I flagged this bug grave, because the package is unusable. It should have
been critical, since a *lot* of Debian programs vitally depend on cron.

I'll try to downgrade. But I'm not really at ease !
