I haven't seen any crashes, but when I tried to install cpufreqd, I've got the same error: "subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 134" and removed it

I have the same error with cpufreqd.
My CPU is an AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
Kernel module is powernow-k8, and cpufreq-set can successfully be used manually.
Bug report tool sent me here to add any comment, as this report is identical to my own.

Gave up on trying to use this, switched over to indicator-cpufreq instead as it works well with 13.10:

https://launchpad.net/indicator-cpufreq

Just make sure to add it to the start up programs list so it runs are boot up. Work great with Unity desktop and gives all the functionality of older tool with none of the compatibility issues.
