Bug Description

Please see ubuntu forums:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11856138#post11856138

I can't see any reason or cause for the issue within the logs, It appears that the Imap, or imap-auth program fails once authenticated squirrelmail or roundcube clients are associated (or within a few mins). Thinner clients don't cause the service to suffer. Service restarts for all the mail stack don't solve the issue, only a full system restart. This has been tested to fail on 32-bit and 64-bit 12.04 (beta) servers.

Please ask me if you require any further information or versions.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/985649/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I'm setting the package to courier-imap as that is what the forum topic refers to.
Note the forum says it was SOLVED with what seems like a workaround, but a warning or performing the action done in the workaround by default would be nice.

affects: ubuntu → courier (Ubuntu)
