Binary package hint: couchdb
I did a fresh Karmic install and then wanted Couchdb. couchdb-bin is already installed but says to install "couchdb" to get system databases (and presumably Futon). So I told it to install the couchdb package which resulted in various errors about missing pathnames in the postinstall script. Doing a reinstall gave the same errors.

This appears to be complaining about a missing /var/log/couchdb directory. After manually creating this directory, couchdb installs with no errors but doesn't appear to be a valid installation. Running '/etc/init.
