Bug Description
The %d format sequence used in date from coreutils version 7.4-2ubuntu2 did not output a trailing space, however in version 7.4-2ubuntu3 the %d format sequence outputs a trailing space.
It may be that the change was deliberate, however, the man page has not changed.
1)
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
Release: 10.04
2)
7.4-2ubuntu3
3)
I believe the %d format sequence should output a 2 digit day of the month
Man page excerpt
"%d day of month (e.g, 01)"
e.g. "01"
4)
A script of mine relied on the old behavior, such that a command stopped working which revealed the trailing space to me.
e.g. "01 "
