The upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 stopped with 3 minutes remaining. I could not do anything in the upgrade so tried restart could not restart Ubuntu GUI (just a brown screen with no icons). I am new to Ubuntu and had no idea what to do but somehow got to a terminal screen and found a repair menu. I did a repair and Ubuntu 9.04 started and this report was automatically generated.

If you are getting the update manager then try to re-upgrade it with uncheck of that all the console thing...
