Bug Description

On 22.04.1 I've noticed the following error in systlog:

Aug 16 06:19:15 s1lp10 console-setup.sh[783]: setfont: ERROR kdfontop.c:266 put_font_piofontx: ioctl(PIO_FONTX): 512,8x16: failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Aug 16 06:19:15 s1lp10 console-setup.sh[786]: setfont: ERROR kdfontop.c:266 put_font_piofontx: ioctl(PIO_FONTX): 512,8x16: failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device

(It happened for me on a s390x system, but I saw at least one report of it on amd64 in March 2022 [https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=2070514], hence I believe it's not architecture specific).
