Bug Description
Using keyboard detection to pick a dvorak variant of 'us'; the appropriate layout appears to be selected (but it *is* the default), except the variant (dvorak itself) isn't being properly applied.
Using the menus to pick us:dvorak from a list, the keyboard variant is properly applied once setupcon gets run.
It appears as though setting XKB_VARIANT after keyboard detection code runs is either skipped or mangled; but otherwise works fine when picked manually.
