Ubuntu 14.04.

In my case, the issue appears when the "Show Desktop" icon routine is used, and not when the desktop per se is clicked upon.

Happens on both 32 and 64bit, intel graphics.

Changed in conky (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

For me conky stops displaying when I click on the desktop but not if I click on the conky display itself. It's still running and can be brought back with a SIGHUP

Noticed this problem on Gnome 3.18 in 16.04 LTS as well with conky v1.10.1. Had to switch to window type 'normal' (default) and used desktop hints instead. 'desktop' window type stops displaying conky if an icon on the desktop is clicked.

--own_window_type = 'desktop',
--own_window_type = 'normal',
own_window_hints = 'undecorated,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager,below',
