Bug Description

The "always up to date" feature of conduit seems not to work on Jaunty.
I created two folders in my home: folder1 and folder2. I added a new folder to folder sync group in conduit and selected "two way sync" and "always up to date". Now when I add a file in folder1, nothing happens in folder2 (stays empty).

Notes from IRC:

This is using the GIO variant of conduit.

I can't reproduce with intrepid and conduit master (again, GIO variant). So either we fixed in master, py-gio had an API break, py-gio has a regression or there is someway of setting this up in the UI that doesnt properly enable the folder monitor...

Can you describe precisely the order you are configuring things in so I can make sure its not some weird UI bug?

Sure.

I installed conduit using sudo apt-get install conduit using the default sources.list.
After that I opened the conduit GUI (Menu -> Accessories -> Conduit Synchronizer).
Then added a sync group as described above. Please see the screenshot and notice the folders "a" and "b".

No luck here with conduit. Trying to sync picture folder across network. Both are using Jaunty. Latest updates. I can see the computer and folder across the network but nothing happens when I try to sync the folder. Trying to do a 1 way sync.

Same here

Jaunty/Conduit 0.3.15

Home dir (source) > usb stick vfat (destination)

Synchronization OK message in all the boxes, but not data transfer.

Edit: no much of a manual on the website.

Could someone confirm if Conduit can sync from a local Dir > to a usb drive vfat? I can't get it to work.

Locally, I can sync folders manually, but always sync does not work for me either.

Same problem here (and I see this bug is over two years old now!)...

Keeping two folders *automatically* synchronized would be the most useful feature of Conduit. I mean, if it's not automatic, I might as well just copy the files myself.

While the auto-sync feature is supposed to work, there has been a lot of platform changes that might have broken it.
However, the last non-translation commit in Conduit is more then a year old, so I believe Conduit is mostly unmaintained now and this will probably never be fixed.

Auto-sync feature still doesn't work in Ubuntu 12.04. But this feature is important. Program Unison is no good alternative for Conduit.
