The original compton has not been actively maintained in the past couple of years. There's an active fork at https:/
It would be great if Ubuntu could do the same.

Btw, I'm able to compile it and run it after installing these libraries:
```
sudo apt install meson libev4 libev libev-dev xcb-dev x11-xcb libx11-xcb libx11-xcb-dev libxcb-damage0-dev libxcb-sync-dev libxcb-
```
This version fixes a few issues I was having with the old branch. Hopefully at some point I can get these updates from Ubuntu directly :)
