ccsm crashed with KeyError in compizconfig.Plugin.ApplyStringExtensions (src/compizconfig.c:6780)(): '\x80\xe3D\x02'

Using ccsm to change certain desktop effects causes it to crash without being able to bring back the unity desktop window decorations (not being able to grab the windows, close them, maximize or minimize them), also the ability to type anything in the applications isn't possible having to force X to restart.
