Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

To extend battery life on laptops, there should be an option to automatically disable effects whenever the power adapter is unplugged. Conversely, when the power adapter is plugged back in, the effects should automatically re-enable.

Because this is a feature suggestion, there is no procedure to reproduce this.

With proper power management in your video card driver there should be no need to turn off compiz on battery. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it gave a slight boost in battery life since the CPU wouldn't have to work as hard and the things compiz is making the video card do are very simple for it.
