Bug Description

I have a dual screen (nVidia twinview) setup with two different sized screens. I have a large screen on the left (primary) and a small screen on the right (secondary). The small screen is at the bottom of the workspace, so that there is an inaccessible region in the top right corner of the workspace. Also I have two workspaces.

What happens is that compiz tries to stop the window leaving the screen (correct behaviour), and if you drag if along the top of the workspace, from the left screen to the right one it gets stuck at the edge.

Ok so far, but if you keep moving you mouse to the right, and then *down* so that the window can now move onto the second screen it goes pretty wrong. The window jumps much further to the right than the pointer has travelled so that it is no longer under the pointer, but is off the screen (on the second workspace!)

Pretty annoying. Especially when moving large windows.

This isn't a dupe of #876575.

Count me in, I have the same setup as OP.

I have another problem but its difficult to describe, I'll give it my best shot. Sometimes when Ive minimized a window, say firefox or rhythmbox and I go to open its drawn on the wrong screen, clicking on it does nothing and it clicks the thing underneath. Using alt click and moving it forces it to snap to the correct position on the other screen.

This seems to only happen to things that are maximized on the second smaller screen and then minimized to be opened later, maybe OP has the same problem?

I should mention I have an ATI card but I'm not using the non-free drivers.

I have installed 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 with compiz and am having trouble with open windows jumping to the bottom of the screen. Also when I drag a window from one screen to another, the window will not keep up with the mouse and I will have to go two screens ahead to get the window to move to the first screen. This is just like the problems above.

I have a new Lenova Laptop model 1068 64bit
