Bug Description
I upgraded my system from 11.10 to 12.04-dev. After the upgrade I logged in; unity was not running after login. I had a desktop, but no launcher or panel. Running 'unity --replace' from a VT did not launch unity.
I launched ccsm and discovered that the unity plugin was disabled. When I tried to enable the unity plugin, I got a note about conflicting settings:
"The new value for the edge binding for the action 'Reveal Mode' in plugin 'Ubuntu Unity Plugin' conflicts with the action 'Flip Left' of the 'Desktop Wall' plugin. Do you wish to disable 'Flip Left' in the 'Desktop Wall' plugin?"
I selected "Enable Reveal Mode Anyway" and unity immediately launched.

I'll try to remove the conflicting plugins. However, this is not what made you not having unity on ugprade (there is a race in compiz which is tracked in another bug report)
