Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
I am using feisty i386 (installed Herd 4, updated to 20070227). On a Compaq R3000z AMD64 laptop with a GeForce4 400 Go.
I enabled compiz using the button in desktop-effects. Compiz proper works fine (wobbly windows, neat alt-TAB, etc), but there are no window decorations. gtk-window-
The output of "desktop-effects" contain a lot of messages like:

I can confirm the problem report. It occurs on a Dell 490N with a "nVidia Corporation NV44 [Quadro NVS 285]" card with the proprietary nvidia driver and two monitors.
I can see the gtk-window- decorator running and I have similar entries in .xsession-errors: decorator: Could not acquire decoration manager selection on screen 0 compiz. real: No GLXFBConfig for depth 32 compiz. real: No GLXFBConfig for depth 32 compiz. real: No GLXFBConfig for depth 32
