Bug Description

Test case:
1. Open some folder containing more than one jpg file using nautilus,
2. Double click one of the jpg files,
3. eog will open (given it's your default jpg viewer),
4. Switch back to opened nautilus window and double-click another jpg file,
5. eog will open but its window will be out of focus. Instead nautilus window will be in focus though visually lower than newly opened eog window.

Thank you for your bug report, I can confirm that on Oneiric, the second eog view gets the first plan but not the focus from compiz

Sam, assigning to you since that easy to trigger, feel free to unassign if you don't plan to work on it, it's not high importance

summary: - Newly opened eog (eye of gnome) window is out of focus
+ Newly opened eog window doesn't get the focus but get raised
Changed in unity (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Sam Spilsbury (smspillaz)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed
affects: unity (Ubuntu) → compiz (Ubuntu)

This bug, and Bug #910063 look the same. I am going to mark this one the dupe, since there is a bit more information built up on the other, and has been triaged. On the other hand, this report came first, and has an assignee. I don't know, but I think it improves the situation to note the dupes, so I'll pick one, for the moment.
