Windows don't maximize when moved with keyboard to screen edges

When moving a window with the mouse to the top edge of the screen (top panel) the window maximizes.
However when using keyboard to move the window (alt+space then select move, and use arrows to move) windows to the top edge of the screen the window does not maximize.

When moving a window with the mouse to the left or right edges of the screen the window is half maximized to occupy half of the screen.
However when using keyboard to move the window (alt+space then select move, and use arrows to move) windows to the right or left edgse of the screen the window does not half maximize.

To reproduce:
1) Select a window
2) Use alt+space to bring up window menu
3) Select move window
4) Move window to top/right/left edge of the screen
    Expected: Window maximized or half maximized
    Result: Window does not maximize

I can confirm this on 12.04; however, I'm not really sure if this is a bug or a wishlist item. We'll have to see if this behavior will want to be intentionally implemented.
