Window-manager buttons no longer highlight on mouseover if window isn't maximized

Since the upgrade to 11.10, the window buttons (close, minimize, maximize) only highlight on mouseover when the window is maximized, as shown in the images below:

I confirm this bug. I had it in 11.04, and i have it in 11.10
I suppose it started after installing ati fglrx, because on opensource driver i've experienced enormous performance issues.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

seems rather a compiz issue, could be similar to bug #770283

Wolfgang - Are you using the fglrx (AMD Catalyst) driver? If so, then this will be a duplicate of bug 770283.

No, I'm using Intel drivers (i965) on my Thinkpad X220.

OK, well the fix for bug 770283 is not really driver-specific so it might still help when released...
