Bug Description

While viewing images in Eye of Gnome/Gnome image viewer, one cannot know which
is the active file. The file name should automatically be printed in top bar or
somewhere else.

It worked in Natty (GNOME version 2.32.1), but not the next version
of Gnome (3.2.0) running in the beta of Oneiric Ocelot beta.

I've filed a bug report in Gnome bugzilla, but their answer was that Ubuntu customizations are to blame for this, as Eye of GNOME does show the file name. This is the link: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660292

Thank you for your bug report, it was a compiz issue and seems to be working fine in Oneiric, can you confirm if you still get the issue or not?

affects: eog (Ubuntu) → compiz (Ubuntu)

I'm on Xubuntu 11.10 with Compiz and I'm still affected :/ Minimizing the eog window and bringing it up again makes the file name appear in title bar.

That version has reached EOL since a while, so it will not receive update. If that issue still exist, report again using ubuntu-bug.
