Bug Description

Window decoration stops responding (often, basically every session), window always shows inactive state, doesn't respond on hovering on top of window deco buttons, or selecting the window.

Just add that quite often windowdeco also dies to active state, never going inactive or responding to hover.

This is still happening, window decoration not responding to hovers is incredibly annoying and inconsistent.

Chromium mostly works, nautilus and terminal never work. Only on fullscreen the hover works.

This also might have something to do with mouse events, I don't know, but anyway I can affect this by how fast I clickc the icons in unity panel.

If i click nautilus panel slowly for example, it gets frozen in active state: http://www.foopics.com/showfull/e3ac3d363789734d4335b0e56ffe111a

However, if I click nautilus icon very very fast, it gets frozen in inactive state: http://www.foopics.com/show/74dc8f831c3154961c8346a4f2a2cfbf

Neither way, it never responds to hover or changes state anymore, frozen.

Still happening in the final release of Oneiric with latest updates. Horrible visual bug, how come no one is working on this?

Happening here too, running Oneiric final with latest updates. I've got the System76 Pangolin Performance (revision 7) with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series graphics card. The window decorations freeze in an either active or inactive state, not updating the title bar text and creating a confusing experience as several windows appear to have focus all at once. This consistently happens with nearly every single window I open; however, maximizing and restoring the window fixes it. If there's any information I can provide to help fix this problem, please let me know.

It's affecting me as well on a Lenovo T500 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (using Catalyst 11.9 drivers).

This bug also affects me. I am running 11.10 x86_64 with integrated Intel Core i7 HD graphics. All windows decoration will more often than not stop updating focus status and also in fact it's mouse over highlight/animations for the window controls too.

Doing anything that results in the window getting resized results in the focus state getting updated but alt-tab using Static Switcher doesn't update the focus info.

This bug was marked as a duplicate of an fglrx bug. However there is another similar bug that applies to all graphics drivers --> bug 880449. That is fixed when the unity 5.12 update arrives very soon.

The mouse pointer disappears. It seems to occur mostly when the network i/o is busy.
It makes Unity unusable.
