Bug Description

When I run apps using java6 (or java 1.4) in oneiric unity-compiz, popup windows are drawn with a large blank bar at the bottom that almost completely obscures the buttons at the bottom of the window (see attached image for an example (netbeans)).

The problem doesn't manifest if I run the app using java7 in unity-compiz, or if if I run the app in unity2d with any version of java.

as i mentioned in bug #560645, it also depends on hardware.

I have the problem on a gigabyte board with integrated ati hd3200 graphics.

I have no problems on a very new and very fast box with intel hd onboard graphics (but there is a problem with libreoffice redraw).

I'm using Sandy Bridge graphics on hardware that is only a few months old.

I've noticed that if I run netbeans using java 7, i can run java 1.4 and 6 apps from it without the obscured buttons. But if I run netbeans using java 6, the obscured buttons problem occurs.

Today i realized that on the computer with intel hd onboard graphics hardware after oneric update the java runtime environment was reset to openjdk.

On my box obscured buttons are ONLY visible with

Architecture: amd64
Source: sun-java6
Version: 6.26-1oneiric1

but not with

Architecture: amd64
Source: openjdk-6
Version: 6b23~pre8-1ubuntu1

PS: So i wanted to state that now that i have realized that i overlooked the change in active JRE i see no more dependencies on graphics hardware for this bug on my boxes.

That version has reached EOL since a while, so it will not receive update. If that issue still exist, report again using ubuntu-bug.
