Hi,
I just retested this with the Oneiric image from 20110823. Tests were done with nVidia Corporation GT218 [NVS 2100M] (rev a2) graphics on a Toshiba Tecra S11.
Behavior is now improved and I can't reproduce the original problem. External screen works fine with no compiz crashes, I
see a bit of corruption on the unused portions of the screen but only when rotating the external display. Resolution changes work as expected on both external and internal displays.
Please let me know if I need to test something more specific.
