Hi,

I just retested this with the Oneiric image from 20110823. Tests were done with ATI Technologies Inc NI Seymour [AMD Radeon HD 6470M] graphics on a Toshiba Tecra R850.

Behavior is now improved and I can't reproduce the original problem. External screen works fine with no compiz crashes, I
see a bit of corruption on the unused portions of the screen when rotating any of the displays, however if they are both horizontal things look good. Resolution changes work as expected on both external and internal displays.

Please let me know if I need to test something more specific.

Hello Daniel,

Could you test one of the affected systems again with Alpha3, please? Just to double check that it was not a random issue.

Also, could you please file another bug for the compiz crash, please?

Thanks!

OK, I just saw you didn't get a crash on this one, but can you double check with Alpha 3?

I just tested on the Toshiba Tecra R850 from comment #1, with Oneiric Alpha 3, and confirmed there is corruption on both displays when an external screen is plugged in. The internal screen shows a garbled area at the top, while the external screen is entirely garbled and totally unusable.

This is a fresh A3 install so it's not a random issue.

As per comments 1 and 4 I'll mark this as Fix Released.
