Bug Description

Hi Everyone,
I've been using Ubuntu since the 1ª day, but I really didn't had the time to report this bug who is annoying me a lot.

I use a lot the "Mail" applet in the Gnome/Unity top bar. The with this I open always Chat (Empathy) so I can talk with msn and facebook friends... But this is not the problem.

The problem come when the Window is open. Because his position is never the same that earlier. For example, Imagine I open a new window and make it at 50px from the right border of the screen. When I open it again the window is more at the right (let's say 45px), the next time 40px etc....

My English is not really good, so I don't know if you understand me well. So I made a video when I open and close the same Window many times to show the Bug in action (when looking at the video please take a look at the empathy window and his separation with the right border of the screen).

I am a programmer, and if I can help solve the problem by code I will be very glade, the problem is that I have problems to found the guilty piece of code to try to make a patch :S...

Thanks in Advance,

Thanks for the video. Very helpful in understanding the problem! Seems like a problem with the window manager. Run the following commands and see which one produces output. That will tell us which window manager you use.

ps -e | grep compiz

ps -e | grep unity

ps -e | grep metacity

Confirming this. I position my gwibber and banshee windows on my second monitor and I end up having to fix their layout multiple times a day.
