Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
* Open libreoffice writer, make it full screen
* Create a new document, write A in it, save it as "A"
* Create a new document, write B in it, add a table into it, enter the table, save it as "B"
* (You will notice a new window with table tools)
* Press Alt-tab, and choose the other document

What happens:
* The "table tools" window vanishes
* The title bar shows me that the document "A" is in focus
* The content of the window is the content of document "B"
* When I enter text, it gets inserted into document "A", while I still see the (unchanging) document "B"

What should happen:
* Content of window "A" should be shown after Alt-tab

I assume this is a problem that has to do with the small "table tools" window. This is hidden, as it should be, but the "B" document window is not. And it probably happens with other programs that open this kind of helper windows.

Anyone else seeing the same effect? Or is it a problem with my setup?

I'm using the "static application switcher" from Compiz.

Compiz' "application switcher" module does *not* show this behaviour.
Maybe it's a compiz bug, not a unity bug?

Hi Bilal, i think this might be similar to this bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/896608

I think these problems wouldn't be so severe if there weren't all these workarounds to treat LibreOffice as several applications (it must be a marketing decision as explained here):

http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/29191/

Please use your weight in the community to sort out this madness before 12.04 launches (perhaps a LibreOffice 'papercuts' project?) - if we don't have a fully working office suite, then it really is game over (particularly for the Business Edition remix) :(

Also (pleasantly!) surprised there's no global menu in 12.04 daily build for LibreOffice (i regularly remove my home directory on my testing vm after package update to reset to the defaults)....but then of course this means no HUD. I would also like to see global menu become an option. This last paragraph IS off topic to this bug, but IS related to the user experience of LibreOffice under Unity.

Thank you!
