Ubuntu 11.04 support for Intel "Sandy Bridge" graphics was incomplete. Better support was available in Ubuntu 11.10, but the graphics performance (including the Unity 3D desktop) is much better in Ubuntu 12.04, and better again in Ubuntu 12.10.

Official support for Ubuntu 11.04 ended on October 28, 2012. If you are still having problems in Ubuntu 12.04 or a later Ubuntu release please file a new bug report so that we can get a new set of logs and system information.
