Bug Description

I have an nvidia card (01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] (rev a2)) with dual monitor and the default installation for Ubuntu 11.04.

Description: Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release: 11.04

I wanted to activate xinerama to be able to move applications from one screen to the other.

1) I open the 'Nvidia X Server Settings' I configure both screens and activate Xinerama, (saving the configuration file )
2) Log out and log in: Gnome will hang up while loading the session.

If I disable xinerama everything loads fine

I found this error in the syslog
kernel: [ 1670.370995] compiz[3865]: segfault at 58 ip 00007fde90fa26b1 sp 00007fff9bcdb6d8 error 4 in libnvidia-glcore.so.270.41.03[7fde90010000+144e000]

Packages
nvidia-current 270.41.03-0ubuntu1
compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu1

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
