Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I was working with Matlab when the application crashed. I had an editor window open and several figures. I also had a save as dialog open to save one of the figures and was just about to hit save when the application crashed. Matlab didn't exit but all windows including non Matlab applications lost their "uppermost bars" (the ones where the cross to close the application is located).

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 beta 1 (I keep up to date daily)
compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110407-0ubuntu2

I expected the application to continue running and not bug me.
application crashed instead.
