I’ve reproduced this with the nvidia, nouveau, and intel drivers, so it isn’t driver-specific.

summary: - compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in g_source_unref()
+ compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in g_source_unref() when running gitk

This problem goes away after downgrading compiz from 0.9.4git20110322 to 0.9.4 (and downgrading everything else that depends compiz-core-abiversion-20110322).

It also didn’t happen in maverick.

I’m going to mark this as duplicate of bug 747439, since this seems to be fixed in ppa:unity/daily.
