Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I've seen this behaviour only with the virtualbox window (the window when the guest os runs) and most of the time when working with Thunderbird on another virtual desktop

Test Case:
- Go to virtual desktop 1
- Launch a virtualbox VM
- Switch to another virtual desktop e.g 4
- Do something (I usually use thunderbird)

Result:
- Suddenly the Virtualbox window which was on desktop 1 appears on desktop 4.

This seems to happen when the guest machine changes video mode. This can also be seen by dragging the guest VM window when it is changing mode (e.g. during boot up) -- the drag will continue but the window will jump out from under the mouse cursor, making for interesting effects.

I have experienced all of these "glitches" with Virtualbox as well. I can confirm this occurs after the initial window opens just as the guest os starts to boot.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
