Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

X.Org X Server 1.7.6
Release Date: 2010-03-17
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.24-28-server i686 Ubuntu
Current Operating System: Linux EdenII 2.6.32-25-generic-pae #45-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 21:01:33 UTC 2010 i686
Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-25-generic-pae root=UUID=e3e8a10f-948e-4973-b428-38c2cb5b2794 ro splash
Build Date: 10 November 2010 11:25:26AM
xorg-server 2:1.7.6-2ubuntu7.4 (For technical support please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support)
Current version of pixman: 0.16.4
 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org
to make sure that you have the latest version.

Graphics card info:
ATI Radeon HD 2600 pro
2D driver version: 8.78.6
driver packaging version: 8.762-100803a-103698C-ATI
open GL version: 3.3.10243

compiz version 0.9.2 (compiled from git)

I'm unsure if this bug is reproducable with other hardware or versions of compiz, but in 0.9.2 if you attach a second mouse and xinput create-master new then reattach the slave pointer to the master, the new master is unable to move windows at all or perform various other functions. With metacity it can so I think this bug directly affects compiz 0.9.2

There is no MPX support in compiz yet, this will come in due time.

I see, I was under the impression it was working due to a few videos I found showing you using mpx on an old version of compiz I'll go ahead and mark this as invalid.

Changed in compiz (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Yeah. That was based on some patches I did in 2008 to get it to work,
although with compiz++ they don't apply anymore.

It should be simple to write a simple MPX system though.
