Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I'm using Jaunty Release Candidate, and have been having this bug for a LONG time. I initially thought it was a compositing issue, so I commented on bug 178953. However, after running compiz-check and still having no luck, I ran compiz from the Terminal and got errors which were confirmed to be unrelated to the bug by a wiser user. Taking his advice, I'm filing this bug report.

Terminal errors:

Is there any chance this is a duplicate of bug#363821?

No, it is not a duplicate because I HAVE the drivers. It finds the drivers and installs them. Sorry! Thanks for the thought though!

I think it is a "conflict situation", because I just run
`gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false`
and `compiz --replace` worked!
