Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I have not updated since 10.3.09 and after the last update today compiz has a really slow rendering of less than one frame per second.

When starting compiz there is nothing special to see:
mabl@miraculix:~$ compiz
Checking for Xgl: not present.
xset q doesn't reveal the location of the log file. Using fallback /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Checking for Composite extension: present.

/usr/bin/compiz.real (video) - Warn: No 8 bit GLX pixmap format, disabling YV12 image format

I am on intel driver with UXA enabled.

$ lspci -nn |grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a02] (rev 0c)

No fancy plugins (as blur or those) activated, compiz rendering speed is set to 50FPS.

This is of cause under Jaunty. Compiz does not consume all the CPU.

Ok, Compiz PPA didn't help. This bug only occurs with UXA enabled. UXA now seems quite unstable so I reverted back to EXA (with all it's known problems). Perhaps UXA will get more stable once the new Intel driver is upgraded.

Sorry for the triple post...

I'm able to confirm this bug on the similar hardware. The performance seems to be less than 0.5 fps, looks line 0.2 fps for me (1 frame in 5 seconds).
